Fall Ideal Home Show 2011

The Nova Scotia Fall Ideal Home Show Ushered in Renovation Season!

Well the weather outside was frightful, but the deals inside were delightful and thousands took advantage and shopped until they dropped September 30-October 2nd at Exhibition Park in Halifax.

Consumers were on the hunt for deals and the experts to get their home based projects completed and they were not left disappointed with the high caliber exhibitors and features that filled the facility.

Exhibitors commented that the consumers at this show were definitely in the market to buy. Many sales were made and solid leads were gathered that will be followed up on in the coming months.

“I have been doing the show for more than 25 years. As far as value ‘ROI” to me the Ideal Home Show is unparalleled. This year I attended the show with the expectation that I would receive a certain amount of leads based on current market conditions and all the doom and gloom that’s out there. Too my surprise I received 50% more leads than expected and actually surpassed last year. The people in our booth were there for a purpose. I look forward to the upcoming spring show,” says Peter Gouchie, President of Metro Windows & Doors Ltd.

The addition of door crasher specials was well received and sold extremely well and may be attributed to the extra consumers that came through the doors. Buyers were also keen to visit the Lumbermart Ideal room and snap up show specials from the folks at Lumbermart, Simmons Mattress Galleries, Jordan’s Furniture and La-Z-Boy Furniture.

The Tastes of Home Section was a hit with visitors tasting, purchasing and taking home selections from Avondale Sky and Saint Famille Wineries. The Dairy Farmers of Canada seminars were always packed and visitors’ taste buds were tempted with delectable Cows Creamery cheeses.

The SCPA’s Wet Nose Weekend could not have happened on a damper one, but 4 furry friends were adopted including 8 year old cat George and much awareness was raised about the great work they do.

The Q104 Cook-off with Chef Live and Bobby Mac was entertaining to say the least and we smell a rematch cooking in the near future.

Congratulations to Lindsay McFadden the winner of the Kitchen Refacing from Atlantic Kitchen Refacing and Q104, as well to Leo Oakley! The Winner of the Simmons, Jordan’s Furniture /La-Z-Boy Prize Package!! Thanks to KOOL FM and those involved!!
