Canadian International Farm Show 2011
The Canadian International Farm Show Silver Anniversary a Success!
For Immediate Release
Mississauga, ON- Management of the Canadian International Farm Show are happy to report that the 25th edition of the event exceeded their expectations yet again in terms of exhibitors, content and visitor attendance. It was a wonderful way to celebrate 25 years at the International Centre in Mississauga.
Over 22,000 members of the Agricultural community came through the doors of the International Centre over the course of the 3-day event and they were not left disappointed.
“We were honored that Mayor Hazel McCallion could take time out of her busy schedule to cut the silver ribbon and officially open the show,” said Show Manager Rob Etmanski.
“She took time to mingle with exhibitors and was impressed with the high quality and diverse exhibitors that were there, and I could not agree more,” said Etmanski.
The Canadian International Farm Show Door-to-Door Motorcoach program also grew this year. In 2010 we welcomed 12 buses to the event, this year we had 15. 13 showed up on day two of the event which really boosted traffic. We are hoping to grow this program even more for 2012 and encourage dealers and exhibitors to contact us for information on this worthwhile program.
The Producer of the Year Awards were presented at the exhibitor reception on the opening night of the show, which bid tribute to a group or Agribusiness that has contributed to the betterment of the industry. This Award crossed all agricultural sectors, while recognizing farm businesses that have demonstrated innovation and business practices that maximize productivity and profitability, shaping the future of Ontario’s thriving Agribusinesses.
The 2011 recipients are:
Andrew & Paul Henderson
Kenora Farms
Spencerville, ON
Laurie Stanton
Stanton Farms
Ilderton, ON
Channing & Amy Strom

Seminars at the event were well attended and the interest in renewable energy was apparent based on the attendance witnessed at these.
The Antique Tractor display was a delight to visitors young and old and complimented the annual sale of an official show toy tractor. This year the Case DC4 was featured and was a hot sell at the show!
We are now planning for the 26th Edition of the Canadian International Farm Show, and we hope to see you February 7-9, 2012!
Have a great farming season!
